Test and Validation of Electronic Control Units
Complex systems require a structured and substantial validation throughout the entire development process. One important section within the complete process is the validation and test of single components before and after they have been integrated. TraceTronics’ business is the validation and test of electronic control units (ECUs).
For our customers we carry out all testing tasks within the given processes in order to validate ECUs. Here, we offer expert knowledge in:
- Test schedule and test analysis
- Structured test case identification
- Our core area of test automation
When creating test cases, we especially pay attention to the reusability of test cases. In addition to further testing tasks such as the test description and the reporting, we furthermore perform error analysis, bug reporting, and bug tracking. We are also happy to assist our clients with defining system requirements.
In order to obtain an optimal result for customers, all testing tasks have to be coordinated by trained and experienced testers. A qualified test methodology is as important as the ideal combination of test environment, test tool, and test design. Especially in our work on hardware-in-the-loop-systems (HiL), we find that our know-how combined with our experience give the best results. On the customer’s site we work with existing HiLs or, if requested, we design them as well. From our experience, an intensive and efficient utilization of the test stations requires a professional initial operation, maintenance and support. We also offer this service to our customers.
As test software we preferably use the test automation software ECU-TEST, which was developed especially for testing of automotive electronic control units. For specific use cases we also offer individual software solutions.
The focus point of TraceTronic is the efficient usage of the whole test facilities. For many years we have successfully supported our customers in large projects, in establishing test libraries and in the optimization of automated tests.
