The operation of modern automobiles is significantly based on complex algorithms, which are implemented in software on electronic control units (ECUs). These ECUs control not just the basic functionalities of a car such as motor, gear, and under-carriage but also the actuating elements of security, driver assistance, and entertainment systems. Due to these ECUs reading a multitude of sensor information and their frequent communication among each other, the challenging development of ECUs is becoming an increasingly important part of the vehicle development process.
