OMSIS: On-the-Fly-Migration and Instant-Operation of Automated Systems
The migration, or the modification and renewal of existing automation systems operating in modern companies, is a permanent process. This often proves to be a challenge for the companies, since long downtimes cause a loss of production. Thus, the system cannot be shut down completely.
In order to avoid a loss in production during migration work, it is essential that the new hardware as well as the updated software is ready for use and flawless at the initial operation. This requires that all changes have been simulated and tested carefully beforehand.
The goal of the joint project OMSIS is to create a continuous tool chain that allows an integrated test simulation environment. The tool chain will simplify the single tasks such as simulation, monitoring, test case generation and execution, and diagnosis. In addition, it will help operators with their routine tasks and supports therefore an efficient migration and initial operation of automated systems.
TraceTronic supports this project by being a specialist in the area of intuitive test case specification and electronic control unit verification of automobile control units.
